help

so...2 weeks work, 35% done, and I'm finding myself disappointed. Maybe it's because I look at it on a regular basis, since it's hanging in my room. Whatever the case, something is bothering me. So, with fresh eyes, can you give me some feedback.

The bright colors have gotten to me.

Thanks,

St. Pat

That certainly is a brilliant shade of red. I'm digging the contrast, it has an almost violent quality to it, which suits the imagery well. The heads seem unusually happy for the decapitated, though you might be aiming for that.

There's some strange texture on the upper left of the image -- is that paint or lighting? (What's your surface, by the way, Canvas?) It seems fitting of the composition, but a bit errant for the style.

I like the way it's turning out, but I suppose I'd have to see it in person to really know what the details are like.

I don't know what you are worrying about! Its pretty decent! To me the colours seem balanced and the use of red works to enhance the disturbing activity. The "smiling" head on the corner of the table is interesting to me...how large is the piece?
