Wok in Progress

Ok so this is the previous painting. I've livened it up, followed Chagalls style and tried to loosen up the tone so it separates and unites in tonal harmony. Please give me feedback.

This is the latest painting, i am almost done with the composition but i am stuck with the background. I will be putting pale water color type washes, with black script all over in my native language. It resembles Arabic in form. The doors represent choices, the fetus is once again the maternal bond, me on the left, theres a road in the middle (curved) inspired from Robert Frosts "the road not taken." The rest I can explain in class. 2 more paintings will follow and they will incorporate the current situation of Pakistan as well as my transition.

Hey Mariam, I think it's looking great with the previous one. I like how you change the water lighter, which really brings it out and you succeeded in bringing harmony to your painting!

Best of Luck!

Thankyou...i just need to convince David about my style. It's...primitive.

the idea of the primitive, the other, orientalism, however you want to call it, has less of an impact nowadays, I think. that's not to say it shouldn't be done, I think we needed to be reminded of it.

Keep perfecting it Mariam, we need it in this culturally diverse country.
